I just received my X61s today... it had an estimated ship date of 7/19... I really love it... it is nice and small, and weighs almost nothing which is great for trekking it around NYC with me. I am upgrading from a T40, so alot of the things are similar, but I am getting used to not having a touchpad and a smaller backspace key... they are the only negatives I can find. I did upgrade to an 8 cell battery, which sticks out in the back, but it doesnt bother me and still keeps it light. I also ordered an ultrabase with a cd rom drive in case I need to load any software... i figured it would be easier that way. I havent tried the ultrabase yet, but it is also very thin and light and shouldnt take up much space on a desk. I upgraded alot of the specs, because I like a fast computer and I had the shareholders discount anyway (Thanks Dad!!!).
One more negative... only one USB drive on the side... the battery covers anything on the back, alot of times I had a printer and flash drive connected at the same time on the T40... now I will have to make sure I save everything to the computer and then plug in the printer... not the biggest deal in the world... just another step.
I went looking for a very light computer with a good battery life, as I thought that would be the most important thing for law school... I think I found that in the X61s and I think I will be glad I made that decision once I have to start carrying this thing around with a load of casebooks.
Feel free to ask any specific questions now that I have this thing in front of me.
