Sorry for being incoherent. I was trying to be succinct and quick since I was in a rush, but I ended up failing to achieve both. I meant that I received an acceptance in the mail this weekend. I never got an acceptance email so I assumed I was deferred when my status checker went to decision on Friday.
My numbers are 171, 3.4

I originally fancied it was letter of admission when I saw it in my inbox.
Imagine the subsequent embarrassment I felt

The sun is shining on the Space Needle as I type this with no cloud in site.
Which means it will probably be raining when I walk home from work.

Hypothetically we'll imagine that you find a genie. (The realism of the situation is irrelevant; isn't that the point of a hypo?) In addition to $1B and the ability to fly, you wish for a 180 on the LSAT.
Once she gives it to you, you are easily in at many of the top 100 law schools, most of which will have many of their lawyers placed pretty well regionally. Students from such schools rarely get the big New York six-figure jobs, and it's harder getting jobs outside of the area where they went to school. But they're not diploma mills, they pass the bar, and they get jobs.
Now. The unsolicited advice is this. First, law school can't just be a default career because a history PhD sounds long and tiresome. You have to actually want to be a lawyer for this to be worth it. Second, it's probably worthwhile to take a practice LSAT first, just to get a feel for where you might end up eventually, since LSAT genies don't actually exist. Third, SAT scores have some predictive value for where you might end up on the LSAT. As a general rule, I've often found that many of my friends end up with an LSAT score which is approximately (SAT/21)+101 plus/minus five. The main reason this formula works is that plus/minus five is a freaking gigantic range AND because I've built in a lot of qualifiers like "often", "many", and "generally." But it might have some probabilistic value within a very large range.
Hah mine is (SAT/21)+101+.5...Pretty nice formula you've got yourself there.
Amazing, it worked for me too.
so does this mean, someone can work out what my SAT score would have been?
This isnt amazing... its just math...
1600/21 + 101 = 177
1000/21 + 101 = 149
400/21 + 101 = 120
The guy just made a math formula to equate a 180 to a 1600 and a 120 to a 400
On a board full of English and Philosophy majors, you understand why this is the most impressive thing ever right?

I have a hard time believing they would send any rejections this early. I hate (or love) to tell you, but you are all in. ty. michigan is my dream school. Im sure rossum is in b/c shes RD and theres no way she would be rejected/wait listed this early. Im trying not to get my hopes up too much b/c im ED and right around the medians and maybe they just rolled me into RD b/c i dont stand out enough or whatever. I am going to go completely nuts waiting the next 5-6 days though.
On your status checker, the bottom lists seperately the definition of Decision and Early decision deferral(? Can't remember the exact phrase right now), where the later is ED rolling over to RD. I think decision means accept or reject one way or another.

did we ever establish how long it takes on average between "decision" and finding out?
and do they send to permanent or current address?
The post date on my package was the same date as it changed to decision. But it took 3 days for the package to get to me.
