I'm in at St. Thomas with a lot of money but I'd give it up to go here.

Nischay - why would you consider not going?

Anyone out there been accepted (waitlisted or rejected) yet after being deferred for Fall 2008?  My status page doesn't seem to be working, I'm deferred and still haven't heard anything. It's killing me to wait...

Does anyone know when the 2008 Applications will be available on LSAC?  They still have Fall 2007 listed on there.

I guess my thinking was that if it went up by 2-3 points then it would put me well within the range of the school instead of at the very bottom.  I generally took 2-3 tests a week.  Also, I do think I could have done better the second time around, I definitely messed up one of the games on test day and I usually don't get any wrong in that section.  Since Feb doesn't release any info I can't be sure, but I think that is why I wasn't in the 165-166 range, which is what I expected.

I'm not in state.  I've heard mixed things about this.  I've heard that it's easier to get in if you are in state and I've also heard that they want diversity so the fact that I am from the East coast could help.

I've also heard that work experience can help although, I'm not so sure I believe this.  I work at at Top 50 law firm as a paralegal right now.

I'm trying not to be too pessimistic but it's not looking so good...

Studying for the LSAT / Need Serious Advice

I took the LSAT in December and scores were 161 and 163.  My GPA is 3.4.  The only school I am really interested in attending is the University of Minnesota (they're range is 163-167 and 3.26-3.75).  My prep included the Kaplan course and taking every practice test available.  I am applying for Fall 2008 so I do have time.  My question is: is it worth it to retake in June?  Are there other strategies I should be using to get my score up.  The second time around my practice scores were between 166 and 169 consistently.  I feel that I could do better than a 163.  With most schools taking the higher score it is tempting but I'm not sure that I would look like a good candidate even if I had a 167 given the amount of times I have taken it.

So, I need advice on:

1.  Whether I should retake in June and
2.  If yes, what should I do to change my study habits?

Does anyone know where I can get prep tests fast?  I took a class through Kaplan so I'm not sure if they have all of the most recent tests but the last book to come out contained PrepTests 29-38 which I've taken.  I've also taken 47-50.  From my Kaplan materials I only have 3 tests left and they are from 1994.  I am taking the test in a week and don't have time to wait for LSAC to ship them to me.  Does anyone know where I can get newer tests (39-46)now??
