General Board / Re: second semester apathy
« on: January 28, 2008, 11:57:43 AM »
I don't have apathy, but my emotional state right now is different than it was at the end of the first semester, where I was  pretty relaxed.

I've been really off my game lately and I actually feel just like I did at the BEGINNING of the first semester when I was adjusting to law school. Overwhelmed, tired all the time, frustrated, and unable to find a balance between school and life.  I have law school dreams; I wake up early in the morning and can't back to sleep because my  brain is fixated on some point of law. So help me, I was agitated enough this morning to get up before 6:00 am and read from my Torts E&E.

I expect that this will pass, but I wish it would hurry up and I could settle back into my more chill mind frame. Someone slap me and tell me to get a grip!

wow i feel the same way - any advice on how to make it stop??????????

law school is officially ruining the law for me.... i used to enjoy it

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2010

Just entered my name into the housing lottery.
I really, really don't want to live at Gewirz...but i need to leave the option open.
Anyone seriously considering living there?

I am. I stayed there in January and it was nothing special, but the convenience is too good to pass up. I don't want to have a long commute, but it's really expensive to live nearby. I don't have to worry about looking for a place, finding roommates, and all the other pains in the butt related to finding a new place. I also don't know the area and I won't know anyone going in, so I think it will be good to get to know lots of people. And the nice new gym nextdoor is a draw too.

That little 20 second bit about Gewirz on the virtual tour CD really turned me off.  You get next to nothing there.  That kitchen was soooooo tiny. :P
The social aspect and the location are pluses...but I think it might be a little too much law school togetherness for me.

Tim, which parts of town are you looking at for housing?  There's a post on the admitted students site from a guy looking to share housing in Arlington (perhaps that was you).

I'll be off-campus as well, though I'm trying to live as close to campus as possible (really want to be able to walk to campus).  Mass court is pricey, but I'm on the waitlist there - could work for anyone else splitting costs with a SO.

Anywhere and everywhere...almost.  Don't really like Silver Springs & would rather not go any further than Arlington.  Somewhere close to a red line station would be ideal, of course.

Looking in the range of up to $1700 for a studio/single, $3100 for a double (if i have a roommate)

Check out Woodley Park - my sister lives in a 2 bedroom in "Gables Woodley Park" for about 2800/month and it is incredibly close to the redline station.  The building is very nice too.

tag... is anyone going to this?  I went to the one in January, but I am going to be in DC that week for something unrelated, so I might stop by...
