Law School Applications / Re: WP on transcript.

if you had to work, you could always use an addendum to explain it. schools won't mind, and they'll probably appreciate the clarification. If you're giong to law school straight from undergrad, i think you can do what you damn well please as long as you graduate.

if you're planning on taking a year or more it may be worth just finishing out.

If you don't explain (BRIEFLY!!! Like, in 2 - 3 sentences max!) they will assume the worst. So by all means explain. Briefly! And if it's your last semester will they even see it before making a decision? Are you applying this cycle?

No. Next cycle. I am taking next year off to work (I am currently working, but hoping to get this new job I am applying for this upcoming week *crosses fingers*).

It said "W", but it never counted toward my GPA...then, I submit my transcript to LSAC and SURPRISE, 3.51 instead of 3.55.

Not the best day. But it all worked out for the best.

I think you just have to call. I dont know how it works.

Aside from LSAC counting the "W"s, do you think it looks bad to have a "WP" on your transcript for your last semester in college with only two other courses on your transcript for that same semester? I am hesitant to drop it, but I really need more time at work so I don't go bankrupt.  :'(
I go to USD, have two "W"s as well, they don't count "W"s towards your GPA and I have the same GPA at both my UG & LSAC

That's what I figured most schools do. But does anybody think a "W" during your last semester is bad?

BTW, how can I find out if my school considers it punative? I mean, I can't find it on the website, and I f-ing work tomorrow from 7 am-10 pm so I wouldn't even have any free time to call (calling my school means being placed on hold by 38 different people while they spend 6.26 hours trying to find the person you need to speak with).

One of the Ivys. It did f-ing suck and it surprised the hell out of me, especially since it was in a practical music course (double sucky).

Did it say "WP" on your transcript? See, I don't get that. If you withdraw, you withdraw. End of story. At that point, it should be as if you never took the course. Similar to how if you cancel your LSAT score within 10 (?) days of taking it, there is nothing more than a (*) on your LSAT report. That is f-ing ridiculous. I would have had a hell of a conversation with the dean...

...and a very high priced attorney.

They did at mine (my school considers it punative).

You should double-check.

What school would that be!? I sure hope my school considers it non-punative. That would f-ing suck.

Doesn't LSAC count those in your GPA?

No.

Do law schools really care if you have any of these, or they are not concerned?

I have two "WP" on my transcript from sophmore year when I needed to drop the classes so that I could work (I had to pay my own college tuition--hence, I had to work while in school). Also, I am in my senior year right now and am seriously considering dropping one class because of my work schedule. How bad will a "WP" look on my transcript during my last semester at college with only 5 other credits (because I finished the remainder of my credits necessary for graduation)? Help, please.  :'(

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: so I just watched ND lose to USC...

Just wait until Charlie gets some of his recruiting classes going. Then we're going to start beating the likes of Michigan and SC. Probably not next year, but the year after.

I hope you are kidding? Notre Dame always has been, and always will be, severely overrated. They are, at best, mediocre. I would say that this years squad is about the 20th best team in the nation (and that is being generous). Those losers from Notre Dame are such babies they can't even play Boston College anymore. Smart move, because BC would have crushed them this year. All three of their losses (Miami, Wake Forest, and NC State) were flukes. They could have easily been 12-0 this year. Oh well. Point being, Notre Dame just can't compete with the "big dogs". They should stick to beating up on all the military schools and should steer clear of the squads with true talent in order boost their resume.

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Most Difficult Experimental to Have?
« on: November 22, 2006, 07:07:41 PM »
I had RC (real) RC (exp) and LR (real).  I was tired by the time break rolled around, but it wasn't too bad.  If you're concerned about stamina, say you're weakest in games, start taking three LG sections back to back.  That way in case you get two back to back, you'll be fine.  What tripped me up was my exp RC was super easy which after the super hard real RC just made me spend a lot of my LR time wishing that my first RC was the exp.

I had the same version as you.

That first section was so difficult it was laughable. Meanwhile, I probably got no more than -4 on section two and R.C. is my worst section.  :'(
