There are more whites living below the poverty level than blacks, so that make sense.  Don't try and make it sound like whites (overall) benefit more from welfare programs than blacks (overall). 

Clearly, there are more white people in the United States than there are black people, so, of course, there will be a greater amount of whites in any category than blacks. Other than prison/death row statistics, where blacks clearly outnumber whites, the white population will always be greater than that of the black population.

Who is to say that there aren't exceptional black students who set the standard?

Surely black students LACK of "academic luster" is not your reasoning behind why AA is being fueled?

Law School Applications / Most Prestigious Internships/Summer Programs

In your opinion, what is th most prestigious internship or summer program that a college student can do? I know that people talk all the time abot regular law firm internships; however, what about others? Internships with...a senator? a congressmen? Clerkship with a judge?

What are the others?

Well, I love playing my instrument, would Music be an acceptable major. I really like Government/Politics, so I was thinking Poli-Sci. History is cool too, but people have gave the advice of majoring in something that you can actually use if law school is not going to be an option.

I seriously could major in music because I play an instrument as well. I will check on the Economics department at my school and evalute it from there.

History? Poli-Sci? Philosophy?

Often times, people suggest going with the easiest major; however, that can be quite difficult if you are unaware of the degree of difficulty of each major. Many people say History since it is common and quite easy.

That's what I was thinking because of what everyone here has been posting. I want something EASY to get a high GPA, but I don't know what. I was thinking Political Science. It seems interesting enough, I mean...politics, lol. Someone advised me History, but I am not looking into memorizing a bunch of facts.

 ??? I am sorry for making another thread today; I feel like a spammer; however, I am a novice to all of this...I'll be a freshman in the fall and I am having trouble on deciding a major. I know I have a ton of time, but I would rather not take a class in.... "subject x" and do bad in it or not well when I could have been taking the better, and easier classes all along. Thanks for your help!  :)

I am currently set to major in Philosophy.(I'll be a freshman this fall) I am thinking of changing my major to something less challenging. I am not sure how hard Political Science is, but I do want something that's enjoyable, yet not so stressful and something that I can get a high GPA in and still be a respectable major.
