Pre-Law in high school / The Relevance of Internships/Externships

AN ODD INQUIRY HERE, BUT I MIGHT AS WELL GIVE A SHOT
Let's say I only want to obtain a JD with no intention of practicing law...
In that case, does anyone's law school mandate some sort of internship/externship, clerking, etc?
Is it possible to ONLY take classes for the credits for the JD, without even belonging to any student organization or doing anything else?
