Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: NYU waitlist

Yay, I got on the waitlist, which was quite a surprise.  Had been completely expecting a ding, so this does my ego good, even if that now makes 4 T-14 waitlistings.

I won't be staying on it, as I'm already 90% set on UCLA, so good luck to everyone!

I think Duke aims for 200 to 220.  At the admitted students weekend they kept mentioning 200 students so...

P.S.  The class of 2007 has 219 students enrolled, according to the Fact Sheet.

so why dont they just reject us poor slobs already.

Where did you find this?  Seems a bit odd to me actually. Berkeley jumps all the way to #8??!?!?! 11 to 8?

Numerically, it could actually be just a one place jump if they were at the top of the 11th place tie and are now at the bottom of the three-way 8th place tie (i.e. 10th).

Actually, the funny part is how they don't want the intelligent OR witty guys at all.

Girls don't really know what they want.  Thats why they like confident men who will mold their opinions and tell them what they want.

HA!  I love how guys are so competitive over being smart and funny and get all pissy when a girl gets together with someone they deem less so.  It's a nice little self-protective measure.  But maybe consider the possibility that girls truly have those standards and just because you're not chosen, it doesn't mean they don't stand by and utilize the criteria.

Geeez!!!  I can't believe yet another week has gone by and still no word from Duke, the jerks.

LSU, you're my new best friend.

I was complete in about mid-November, as well, and also have not yet heard.  Just ding me already, since at this point I've already psychologically dinged myself.

But it's good to know I'm not the only one waiting on NYU, considering it's my last school with a normally functioning admissions cycle to go.

I'd appreciate any insight regarding those same questions.  Also, does anyone know when the summer program is this year??  Is it right before Orientation in August, or earlier in the summer?  I haven't been able to find a clue.

I really really want to get off the WL, so all y'all who are thinking about withdrawing, go ahead and withdraw, k? :)

I would guess that no one will get off the WL until after seat deposit time, right? I've never been on a WL before, so I don't really understand the process...

I just withdrew from GULC's preferred WL a couple of hours ago.  I'm also on UVA's p.WL.  Wanna trade it to me?  ;)
