Current Law Students / Preparing for Class v. Preparing for Exams
« on: March 15, 2011, 12:44:45 PM »
I'm in my second semester of law school. I was fortunate to make the Dean's list last semester, but I don't have the desire or the fear to study as hard as I did last semester.

My biggest issue right now is getting caught up in the details. My civ pro professor (Harvard law grad) expects us to know every single detail about cases. However, these details are not essential come exam time. I have transitioned from briefing the cases on paper to using highlighters in my book.

Also, I will be working in my father's law firm when I graduate so grades are not a huge concern to me. I've read where some people don't even crack their casebook and still make A's somehow.

Any advice on how to study more efficiently and still do well on exams?
