Pursuing an LLM / Re: How selective are LLM programs for US students?

I've applied to nyu and Georgetown. I'm hesitant about adding to student loans unless it is at a top program.

Pursuing an LLM / How selective are LLM programs for US students?

I graduated from T14 in 2009 in the bottom half. Was a never ofthe tax review and took a bunch of tax based classes. I'm applying to nyu and Georgetown. Any idea how tough these are?

I went to Wake for undergrad, and if they had given me any money it would have been tough for me to leave.  However, I have heard from some people that Wake needs to improve its Career Services office.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: UVA Waitlist

After I was deferred I sent them another letter of reccomendation and updated my resume and sent a new transcript.  I didn't send anything after being waitlisted because I had no new information.

I got a call on Friday and called back on Monday with an offer to attend UVa.

I took in my deposit yesterday since I live in C-ville and called Notre Dame today to let them know.

I went to school at St. Joseph's from 3-8 and then went to Bishop Kenny for two years before moving to Jacksonville.

Congrats on getting in.

There was a string of burglaries in that area but the police came to our door and let us know that they had caught the guy.

when i lived on polo i was broken into 3 times.

I'd go for one of the apartments in the area.  deacon ridge, crowne polo, crowne oaks, or crowne park.  I lived in the Trails and it wasn't as nice as the other apartments but it was cheaper.  My roommate and I paid $315/person for a 2br 2ba with a w/d

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Odd ND call

I was at ND on Tuesday to show my mom and girlfriend and look for housing.  We took a tour with Margaret from the admissions office.  Right now she is the only person there because Heather Moriconi had her baby and was put on bed rest 3 weeks before she was supposed to leave and the director left in January.  Right now one of the Dean's is handling all of the waitlist stuff and she asked the admissions office to make some calls to gauge student interest in order to get a picture of what the waitlist situation will be this year.

General Off-Topic Board / Re: overrated movies

The thing that I thought was great about Crash is that it made people much more aware of their subconscious attitudes toward race.  There is no denying that the majority of America is not color-blind.  Everybody has biases and maybe they don't want to admit them but I feel that ultimately they are there.  For me, Crash was excellent because it made me aware of my own attitudes and made me take a closer look at myself.  Ryan Phillipe's character is great because on the surface for the majority of the movie he is the hope that everybody can get along.  But in the end, he judged a black man based on stereotype.  It's not how he wanted to behave it was just the subconscious attitude.  No movie has made me think and examine my own beliefs like that ever.
