Transferring / Re: any gulc waitlist movement?
« on: August 18, 2009, 05:30:11 PM »
I haven't replied to their e-mail, and I don't want to.  I think the wait list thing was BS to begin with.  They should have just sent out different levels of rejection letters.  For example, Thank you, but you aren't qualified to be here or ... Thank you, you are over-qualified, but he we have no space.....

Hi. What is difference between Priority Waitlist and Regular Waitlist?  I am on the Priority Waitlist, but my friend is on the Regular Waitlist.  His Regular Waitlist letter says that the Waitlist is "unranked" and GULC will immediately call him as soon as any spot opens up.  Any thoughts on this?  How can the Regular Waitlist be unranked if there is a priority waitlist?

Sadly, I would have to recommend AU over GMU, even though I am a JD student at GMU.  I really don't want to talk badly about my school, so I'm not going to go into detail.  But for various reasons, GMU has dramatically fallen in the USNWR rankings and AU continues to rise.  FYI, USNWR ranks accredited part-time programs in this order: (1) GULC, (2) GW, (4) AU, (5) GMU.

Transferring / Re: GULC w/ 10k grant or NYU/Columbia w/o grant?

Congrats!  It's very impressive that you were selected for the grant.   But, I do agree with the previous poster's comment that $20k is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.   If you are debating between taking $20k to go to a lower ranked school (i.e. GULC) or sacrificing $20k to attend your Big Apple dream school,  I would confidently choose the latter.

If it weren't tied down to the D.C. area, I would definitely have applied to Columbia!

Were you deferred EA?  Anyone here still EA & Complete?  One of my friends was just accepted and she applied EA.

And, still Complete.  Anyone else still in this category?  I'm hoping 7/17 will be a good day for all those EA Deferrals who are still waiting for a Decision.

Yes, move from T3 to T1.   The question of where to transfer among the T1's is generally the harder question.

Still "Complete."  Anyone know when the GULC seat deposit deadlines are?

So, does everyone pretty much agree that being Complete as an EA Deferral right now is better than being Decision/Waitlisted?
