Where should I go next fall? / Re: Univ of Washington-Status Checker
« on: February 12, 2009, 01:33:45 AM »
I got my letter today, dated 2/3! It was good news for me, hope it is for you too!

When you got your letter did your status checker change to "Admitted" or anything. Mine changed to "Decision" I am not at my mailbox so waiting for someone to pick up the letter is killing me

Current Status changed to "Decision" and under mailings it listed "Decision letter - 2/3/2009"

Santa Clara is really widely respected for IP law.

Nope, you're still pretty well "trad" -- below the average age of applicants for most schools, even. Check out lawschoolnumbers.com to get an idea of how high you'll need to score on the LSAT for your target schools. Good luck!

Law School Applications / Re: Grad. school grades
« on: January 21, 2009, 03:51:07 PM »
Yeah, you have to update them.

But just FYI: your grad school grades (even your GPA) don't show up on the front page of the LSAC summary -- at least mine don't. They will have to actively read through your transcripts to find them.

I wouldn't worry about it much.

Objection! First line has fewer than the required number of syllables.

Damnit!!! When I clicked on this thread again I caught my mistake... And was going to fix it.  You pounced on it.  Well done, sir.

It's cool. I had to count them on my fingers.

If there are no specialized classes at the school you're applying to, you could still say something like "A first-rate education at XXXXX School of Law will prepare me for the challenges I will face and allow me to fulfill my goal of becoming  an education lawyer."

Law School Applications / Re: University of Washington report not sent?

Well, within the hour I received an email from the admissions office saying they had received my application and had ordered a report. Thanks UW folks watching the board! :) Or you know, coincidence and stuff.

Law School Applications / University of Washington report not sent?
« on: January 13, 2009, 06:25:13 PM »
Anybody know what their deal is? The deadline is January 15th, but they haven't requested a report from LSAC yet. I just figured out last week that they require a dean's cert and had that sent out.

From their website, it seems like they don't do rolling admissions. Should I call, or is this just how they operate?
