General Off-Topic Board / Re: for those living in NYC(or close by)

a lot of buildings won't let you have a washer dryer in your apartment, even when you OWN it. Don't ask me why but it's true. In the swankier parts of town, people smuggle them in in boxes meant for fridges or big screen TVs.

But having a coin laundry in your building (usually the basement), or a convenient drop off laundromat on the block, is key.

Yeah I finally sold my bberry last month. I definitely don't need the extra $50 a month coming out of my bank account, and since there's wireless in so much of the law school, I don't really see any great benefit.

yeah I totally think it could be fun, and I would like to someday get married. Of course, growing up in the separate homes of my parents who were married for over 25 years before divorce, this all goes against my own experience...

That would be SOOOOO cool ( I feel like I'm 6 again ) I remember there was a cartoon movie about them and they both fought evil together... soooo awesome!!!

I personally owned, and probably dismembered, their action figures. i loved her gold and white costume.

For some reason I thought She-Ra was killer but I never liked wonderwoman. But I wanted to be She-ra, and Jean Grey from X-men, when she was Phoenix.

and She-Ra (why can't they make a real life movie about her!)

I wholeheartedly agree.

She-ra and He-man need to be brought back for the next generation!!

Ah, finally. My Penn rejection came on Saturday. I have half a mind to write them and say they should treat their alums w/ a little more respect than to delay for 7 months before sending a rejection.

(ps I'm pretty relieved bc if accepted, I would probably feel like I had to go there. which speaks volumes, heh)

That sucks :(

And you should write to Guttman's office: I get the impression that the law school doesn't care how they treat UG alumns because of how JRo changed funding.  :-\

Besides, it seems like the only person they've heard from on the subject is this guy, who's just ranting: http://www.dailypennsylvanian.com/vnews/display.v/ART/43ddb2096b914?in_archive=1

lol that's great. More amusing than a lot of DP columns I've read, if just as futile. I'm ok with the rejection...to be honest I wasn't going to apply until they made it free.

(mostly I'm just glad I don't have to move back to philly. I'll go back to visit and all...)

this is my favorite thread.

Superman is my personal fave. Strength and just a touch of human vulnerability. Sigh.

Spidey is only ok imo but I ran into the set of Spiderman 3 yesterday in nyc by the courthouse. Kinda bizarre.

Pretty much all of the X-men are hot but I have a soft spot for nerdy Cyclops (in the comics).

So what are people thinking about Curriculum A vs. B? I'm still going back and forth. I think I'd really like the theoretical aspects about B, but there's something a little nervewracking about straying from the established format of courses that peers at other schools are taking as well...

Have you all selected a preference? We've still got another day to mull it over.

(ps I was just home in the DC burbs over the weekend and it made me even more excited to move down, heat, humidity and all!)
