Which of the 3 would you pick, and why -- all based out of NY:

1) Willkie
2) Fulbright
3) Cahill

Anyone have input on them? Anything from compensation to practice area would be great.

I really like them. Worried about their practice as they are heavily tied to Wall Street. Anyone care to opine on what should I do/future outlook for them? (I have other firms that will pay market rate etc. etc. available)

As a Brooklyn Native, I can attest to the fact that it does take longer to get to the city from where I live (southern bklyn) then from Jersey.

Who wouldn't want to live in Hobo? I mean, c'mon, Eli Manning is there -- MY GIANTS>

I went on 50+ interviews between OCI and Callbacks and I wore the EXACT SAME SUIT each time (different shirt, different tie - cleaners once a week). It doesn't matter. I got offers; so will you.

Is there any truth to the rumor that NY firms are going to $190K at the end of the year? If so, I would assume 2009 Summer Associate Pay would also go up, right? Furthermore, how does it impact bonus structure?

I am at a T2, top 6%, Journal, and summered at the SEC. I had 36 OCI's, 12 Callbacks, 5 offers so far (2 more possible, including from a V5) and 3 withdrawn.

Point is its possible. Granted I am in NYC, but still, its possible. But in my view, it is necessary to finish in the top 20%.

Can anyone give me the inside scoop on Ropes & Gray, specifically the NY office?
