Penn State- No
Villanova- No

American- Don't know
Pitt- No

I think MikePing is right on.  Those are extremely high requirements and chances (based on percentages alone) are you will lose it, so pick the school that you feel better at.  I have visited Kent but not DePaul, and I am doing a visiting program at Kent next year, while a friend of mine is doing a visiting program at DePaul.  Visit the schools pick the one you would pay for

Back to the topic, I go to a very catholic school, and the only other school that some people up here applied to besides here was to Ave Maria.  There is that to keep in mind, as well as the fact that they just moved.  What law school moves?  I too would recommend state school, as I did not think about more when I was a OL, looking back now that would have been nice.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Loyola vs Kent vs DePaul

Obviously the OP is talking about Loyola Chicago since they are talking about other Chicago schools

I have not visited Loyola, but my impression of Kent was that the facilities were average and there seemed to be students everywhere.  I am going to be doing a visiting program at Kent next year, and what drew me there was the fact that I think they have a slight advantage on Loyola and DePaul in addition to the fact that it has the best location (right next to union station)

Transferring / Transferring into T100
« on: January 13, 2010, 10:48:20 AM »
I am at a t3 school right now and am still waiting on one grade from first semester.  I am interested in transferring to the a school in the southwest but have noticed that most schools say that they require top 10% of class in order to be looked at.  I am interested in Arizona State, Texas Tech, UNLV, just to name a few.  Does anyone have any experience or insight as to whether these numbers are true?

What does instate tuition matter if you are only looking at private schools in Chicago, if you are at an out of state public school you will probably pay less than the Chicago options

I would say that you are in already at John Marshall, and then I would apply to DePaul, Kent, and Loyola and hope that one of them throw you a bone

Incoming 1Ls / Re: Summer Courses After The First Year of Law School
« on: June 09, 2009, 10:37:37 PM »
I also will be a 1L in a couple of months and I plan on taking a class or two the summer after my first year.  I have heard that it makes your life easier the next two years and that you have little chance at landing a law related job anyway.

I would say Kent because I like the possibility of getting a 3.0 and still keeping at least 5,000.  Plus, I do think that Kent is a little better then DePaul

I agree that the three are pretty even, and that is why I would recommend to go FT unless you feel a lot more comfortable at a school that offered you PT and are willing to deal with the consequences of going PT
