I did too!  Did you understand the part about there being 400 people currently on the waitlist?  Did I read that wrong?! I faxed in my letter to continue to wait but I am thinking my chances are slim to none at this point.

I think age doesn't truly make a difference.  But the experience from a prior career can only help you, whether it applies to the law firm's current practice or not.  You can always utilize your prior experience in one fashion or another.

Job Search / Re: Trial level judicial clerkships

I think most trial courts are looking for clerks when they turn over their existing clerks.  Where I am now, I was informed that the clerks are free to stay as long as they like.  I do not appreciate the concept of career clerks but I suppose in this tight economy, any job security is good security.

Job Search / Re: Bar membership and jobs

I have been having the same trouble finding a job.  I am a recent graduate and am currently awaiting my bar results.  I have tried both government and private law jobs.  I am uncertain as to whether its proper to apply for "attorney" or "associate" jobs when you legally cannot practice law.  Does anyone know? I would appreciate any advice.

I am a recent graduate and am waiting for my bar exam results.  I understand one's marketability is limited during this period in terms of finding suitable legal employment. I would like to try the legal services that allow you to contact law firms in mass mailing form.  I am skeptical about these though.  I am wondering how many of you found jobs during the time before you received your bar results?  What was your strategy and what advice can you give me?  I understand that this economy is really bad but I am willing to try almost anything, including relocating and sitting for the bar in another state if a firm makes me a good offer and is flexible with study time.

Also can one apply for and accept associateships or staff attorney positions while you cannot legally practice law because your bar results are still pending?
