7 straight weeks of Austin/NYC flights for twelve Big law callbacks. Seemed to go well but only 2 offers (for which I am grateful). So relieved it is over.

I'm 2L at Texas. My younger Brother got results yesterday. here is history:
Kaplan: 149,153 and 154 Three full practice tests after a month of post class studying: 163, 167 and 163 Actual: 164 - Games 22/23, RC 25/27, LR 37/50 for raw score of 84. I saw that the actal test numbers are consistent with his practice trends. While I haven't said anything yet (as he is very pleased), I think he should get tutor for LR only and retake test in Dec or Feb. 3 wrong on half the test and 13 wrong on other half seems way out of line. Thoughts? 3

My experience: A Vault Top 10 - 4 weeks to the day (rejection)and a Vault Top 20 - 3 1/2 weeks and counting. Hang in there.

How about another perspective.
I didn't expect to do well as a 1L but I did very well first semester. I reached out to a few firms and one Big Law flew me in for a half day in Feb. It went well but I didn't get the offer because the firm experienced a higher level of acceptances than it expected. I was told that if I applied earlier, I would have received an offer. (If the offers were undersubscribed, I suppose I would have been a shoe-in.) As a result of my experience, I've gotten an early start and I've asked for the earliest available slots. My concern is that Wall Street is likely to get worse before it gets better and I am concerned that the market for 2Ls will deteriorate in the next few months. I do have a callback with the firm I interviewed with in Feb for 1L. My grades did drop in the second semester vis-a-vis first semester. 7

BTW - I have 2 scheduled in the very near term. From what I read, I should hear sometime within 1-4 weeks. At least I'll be busy with schoolwork.

Is it typical to hear that there is no interest but if circumstances change, they will be in touch? Awfully similar to wailist letters I got 15 months ago.
Reminds me of a number of girls I've asked out on dates - They'd say "I'll date you only if you're the last man alive" and, I alsways say, "yes, glad to hear I'm still in the running!" Hang in there everyone! 9

Just attended job fair last week. I havent heard anything from 3 firms - I assume that is a definite "no" - has anyone received a call back a week after an interview with a Vault Top 10 firm? Thanks
