Current Law Students / Re: Living at Home During Law School?

I've done both. Sure, some people may be able to immerse themselves in their studies even while living at home. I wasn't one of them. In the end, I think you should pay for a place near your school so you can come and go as you please. Before, I was always planning what time I'd catch the train coming back even before I got to school.
I'm already spending tons of money trying to get a $160k job, and I think adding more money to that is fine. Of course, it just adds more pressure if you don't get that job.....BUT, in the end, it's all about whether you did better.
I did MUCH better after living closer. So I got a nice job. And yea, maybe I might have been able to do the same had I continued to live at home. But I don't really want to find out.
Live near the school, immerse yourself in the work and environment, and work hard. If you get a $160k/year job (if that is your goal, like it is mine) then the extra $40k over 3 years is negligible.
I know it will be more when I end up paying it back. But I've done the math. If you get a huge job, it's negligible.
