Choosing the Right Law School / Define competitive...
« on: October 28, 2005, 01:14:04 PM »
I recently saw Princeton Review's top 10 list of most competitive schools.  How do they define competitive?  How does a school get on the list?  I'm interested in Suffolk.

Law School Admissions / Re: What Does the Index # on LSAC report mean?

How does the index get used?  Does the school have a minimum cutoff and if you're below that, you're toast?

Asian Female, Masters in Public Health. Undergrad major Biology, minor Chemistry. 7+ years work experience

GPA 3.58 (as calculated by LSDAS >:()
LSAT 151  :(

What are my chances at:

New England

I'm 31, married with twin one year olds.  Graduated in 1995 with BS in Biology.  Graduated 1998 with MPH in Community Health Practice.  Worked for the last 7 years, hated just about every minute of it.  Every job has been devoid of all intellectual stimulation.  There's gotta be something better out there: oh, yeah!  Law!

Law School Admissions / What to do about financial forms if apply now?
« on: October 14, 2005, 10:12:32 AM »
I've already submitted my apps, just waiting for LORs and LSAT score.  Should I wait and submit my financial apps when the 2006-2007 FAFSA comes out in January or should I just submit what I can now, noting that the FAFSA still needs to be completed?  I've heard that many schools offer scholarships with their acceptances, so I want to make sure that my schools know that I'm needy when they decide.

Law School Admissions / Anyone know where Suffolk ranks in Health Law?
« on: October 06, 2005, 06:17:44 AM »
I'm only applying to two schools: Suffolk and New England.  They're the only ones near me that have part-time programs.  I'd really appreciate it if anyone has any info on this.

Forgive me.  I'm new to this board.  What's a splitter?

Law School Admissions / Why do schools want to know where you apply?
« on: October 05, 2005, 06:00:02 AM »
Hi, all.  First time posting.  Been quietly observing.

Anyway, why do schools want to know where else you're applying?  Do they check?  Why would they need to know?  Just curious.
