I suppose the original poster finds it incomprehensible that some might respect a man for his accomplishments, even when aware of his personal peccadilloes.

MLK brought black Americans the franchise and integration. Only a puritan would feel some unconstrained need to denounce him for sleeping around while he liberated his people. A puritan--or a racist. Whatever.
