General Board / Law School and Small Practice...« on: November 09, 2004, 07:08:11 AM »
I'm currently at Clemson Univ. and plan on going to law school next year. If I"m just planning going into a small practice and not big law, does it really matter what law school I attend and my graduating rank?
For instance, I know an attorney who went to a non-ABA school(One that doesn't even exist anymore) and he is in a 2 partner practice bringing in $150,000 a year. 3

Sqaurre: What engineering school did you go to? I'm currently at Clemson(after transferring from ASU in Augusta, GA). Also, what law school are you attending? Thanks for a good read. It looks like if you manage your time well, theres still time to "play".
In all honesty I think a lot is what you make of it. I do study a lot more than I did in my undergrad days and I went to an engineering school that has a reputation for wanting to screw students with regards to grades. On average I have somewhere from 10-25 pages per class to read. At my school some people study constantly and some people claim they just look over the cases for about an hour (especially if they don't think there is a chance they will get called on). I am probably somewhere in the middle of these 2 extremes. 5

So there is no truth to a rumor I heard of 100-200 pages of reading a night? Hopefully not...But I guess if it is true, you just gotta do it.

For you people in law school, is it all what the warnings say...
-Constant Reading every minute of your life -Constant briefing of cases every minute of your life Sure I know there is a lot of work to be done in LS but can any of you tell me if you really do not have time to do anything else? What is a particular "day in law school" like? 8

Any idea when we will know if the deadline will be extended or if they are granted ABA-approval?
Another thing, suppose the deadline is extended and I'm end up going to JM set to graduate from JM in 2009, would I be able to sit for the bar? 10

What normally happens if if doesn't get approved or the deadline is not extended? Also, what type of LSAT and GPA is needed to get in?
