Oh Canada! / Cdn. schools = bull sh*t
« on: July 18, 2005, 09:34:41 PM »
Why do the Canadian law schools give out so few scholarships based on MERIT? It seems like I am a lock for major money at mid-range American law schools. Yet the Canadian ones seem to have no time for a white, middle class, Christian male like myself. I am sad to say that I, along with my 99.58th percentile LSAT, will be heading south of the border next year. I always wondered what the cause of the "brain-drain" that Canada suffers from, and now I know.  :)

Law School Applications / 174 LSAT, 3.55 GPA
« on: July 17, 2005, 02:52:12 PM »
I have a 174 LSAT and a 3.55 GPA through 3 out of 4 years with a major uptrend (4.03 last year). What are the best schools that I can apply for and have a shot at a free ride, or at least major scholarship money? I'm a foriegn student (Canadian) by the way.

Affirmative Action / Affirmative action = bullsh*t
« on: July 14, 2005, 01:01:01 PM »
What's with all this affirmative action BS I see on American University's websites? I live in liberal Canada and it is not this bad. How can anyone possibly support judging applicant's based upon their skin tone, and not be a racist? ???

Law School Applications / Foreign student needs advice plz.
« on: July 13, 2005, 06:15:18 PM »
Hi y'all,

I am about to enter my 4th and final year of a finance degree in my home country, Canada. I plan on going to law school, and want to apply to a handful of American Universities. Could someone give me advice on where to apply? I want some that are long shot, home run types, and others that may have scholarship potential for someone with my credentials (maybe some schools could be both for me?). Anyways, my GPA is currently 3.55. It was 4.05 last year, and I expect to get a similar GPA this year, which should further increase that 3.55 I have at present. My first 2 years I only had a 3.25, but hopefully the huge upward trend I have will compensate. My LSAT mark is 174.

Thanks in advance for any help.  :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
