Got an e-mail from Bill Hoye asking if I'd be interested. He even said they still have scholarship money available. Decision by tomorrow afternoon. I was planning on USC, now this. If I get accepted, I start in two weeks. I'm in LA. My girlfriend is here. I have no money. My car is in pieces. I'd have no place to live in NC. I've been through NC once. I'm confused, excited and feel like I'm gonna throw up.

I e-mailed them about a month ago and both schools said they hadn't made a decision yet. I still haven't heard anything from either school. Should I give them a call? I have to send in a deposit very soon.

I love the Bay Area but am not too crazy about Southern California. I like Santa Barbara more than LA. I eventually want to live in either SF or Berkeley or way up north, like Mendocino county or even farther up north in Jefferson State. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Jefferson
Which school travels better over the state? USC or Hastings?

Can I use the money from the loan disbursement to pay for moving expenses, deposit on a place and books or will I need to pay for all of that with my own money? When are the disbursements made?

Hey, right now, I'm trying to pick between USC and Vandy. If Vandy matches the money USC offered me, I'd be very tempted to accept at Vandy because it has a better reputation and the degree is more national than USC's. Plus the atmosphere is supposed to be laid back, the campus is progressive and I m not looking forward to spending another three years in LA. I'm looking for a pretty campus and a collegiate feel. Vandy is supposed to be beautiful with lots of trees with a mild climate that I think I'd like.
Anyway, I doubt I'll be able to visit Vandy before the deposit is due. Would it be crazy of me to accept sight unseen? I've never been to Nashville but I don't see how it could be worse than LA.

Is anyone else watching these games? I've watched a few games and this is a million times better than spring training Right now, I'm watching the Korea v. Mexico and I'm surprised at the quality of the play. Lots of fun, I hope this is a continued success.

If I get into any of the T14s, I'll go, but what if I don't? From California and I eventually want to practice in the Bay Area. I dislike LA but USC is the most prestigious school I've gotten into so far. USC is also insanely expensive. There are other money considerations, I got $10,000 per year from ND and $5,000 per year from UMN. Not really feeling Hastings, Davis or W&L but I could be convinced otherwise.
I've lived all 25 years in California. I kind of want to see another part of the country. Some some reason, I'm drawn towards UMN, UND and UNC.
So hard to pick.
What do you think?
