If put on the WL - will they eventually send you a letter rejecting you?

the open door policy of professors/deans/administration?

is this just nice to have or something that should be heavily considered?

So it is May 17th and I still haven't heard from St. John's.  This is the last school I need to hear from. I went to the admissions office today and well they weren't much help either.  They said my file is still under review.  Should I just give up?

I know the school that I will be attending is pretty good but it isn't my first choice.  I don't think I have any school spirit and taking everything as it goes.  I am feeling pretty blah about the whole situation.  Anyone else in a similiar slump? :(  I am hoping that this will change and I will start to be excited about it all.  Not looking promising though.

Incoming 1Ls / Syracuse Roommate - Anyone?
« on: May 15, 2005, 06:22:06 AM »

I am looking to move to Syracuse and was looking to possibly have a roommate.

PM me is interested!  ;)

Hi Everyone.

Just wondering everyone's thoughts about the big difference if there is one between going to a school at the bottom of the 2nd Tier vs a 3rd Tier school.

I don't see a big difference.

The 2 schools I am flirting with is Loyola NO and Syracuse.  I can't decide.  Can anyone give me any suggestions?

This is what I know:

I don't know where I want to practice - originally from NYC. I haven't visited Syracuse yet and thus I don't know that much about it.  I want to find out about the curriculum, etc...Also, regarding the tiers, they are pretty similiar...not enough for me to be concerned.

-Local To NYC
-Appears that the law students that attend Syracuse are from better undergrads than Loyola NO (I don't know if this means much).

-Professors - some good, some bad

Loyola NO
-Supportive Faculty, Administration, Student Body

-Local School
-Civil vs. Common Law

If anyone has anything else they would like to add, I would appreciate it.

I just have no idea! ???

Choosing the Right Law School / US News Ranking - Explain Please
« on: May 03, 2005, 08:17:47 AM »
Can someone help explain to me the rankings?

For instance, I don't understand why some schools have a low acceptance rate, decent GPA range, decent LSAT range, decent employment rate, are still in Tier 3 or Tier 4?

I was accepted to several Tier 2 Schools but waitlisted from a Tier 4 school.  Hahahaha..

I emailed Hofstra and they replied that they will start to revisit the waitlist in June.

Just wanted to share this info.
