So I've been checking out the student health insurance plan offered by my law school versus the one offered by the ABA. I noticed that the one offered by my school does NOT offer copays for birth control pills. So annoying. Luckily, the ABA one does offer copays for the pill.

Just a notice for the women out there who might be interested in such coverage to read the fine print carefully before choosing a plan.

So I'm leaning toward not wasting $900 on the law school prep course that BarBri offers, but I figured I'd get a few more opinions since today (5/1) is the last day to get the early registration discount.

Thoughts?

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Laptop: Update laptop or buy new?

I bought a Dell Latitude D500 about a year and a half ago. I haven't worn it out at all because I have another laptop provided by my employer which I use during the work day. I'm wondering if I should buy some upgrades for the Latitude (my brother, a computer whiz, suggested adding a significant amount of RAM and possibly a new battery), or if it would make more sense to sell it on Ebay and get a newer model.

I'm leaning toward the upgrades (less expensive), so if you have any compelling arguments for buying a new one, please let me know. Thanks.

Any female students who will be UGA 1Ls interested in a roommate? I'm going to look at places on Monday. Looks like there are some really nice 2BR/2BA townhomes/cottages/condos for about $500 each, and they come with all the modern conveniences, including wireless internet and cable.

I have a dog, a Boston Terrier, who will probably be coming with me. He's very sweet, and he's not smelly at all.

I also have furniture with which I can furnish the living room and dining room.

I'm looking for a quiet, non-smoking, clean, easy-going female. Send me a message on this site if you're interested. If you live in the Atlanta area, we could meet up to chat.

Where should I go next fall? / UVA decision "in the mail"--do I stand any chance?

Just went to decision on the UVA status checker today. I know it's a total stretch for me w/ my numbers and the fact that I'm out of state, but do I stand any chance? I'd be happy just to make the preferred out of state WL (don't even know if that's a possibility). Is Virginia even giving out decisions other than WL/rejections at this point?

Also: the admitted students site. Someone said you can try to log in to see if you're admitted. Do you use the same login as for the status checker?

Anyone still waiting to hear from UVA? Should I assume denial/waitlist at this point? Do I stand any chance w/ my numbers as an out-of-state applicant?
