General Board / Trip to Tampa

I am moving all of my stuff to St.Pete the week of June 20th.  If anyone else is in the area and wants to grab a beer, I am sure I will get bored of unpacking.  Lol...or if anyone wants to help move a few pieces of furniture, I will definately reward the help with some Yuengling Black and Tan.

For all you Tampa natives, where are some cool places to go while I am scoping out the area?  I figure I will spend half the day unpacking and the rest out lying on the beach or checking out the sights.

Stetson / Apartments

I visited in January and got to visit about 10 different apartments near the campus.

I have a fiancee and a 9 year old, so my criteria are a little different than most.  I think we are going to go with Emerald Bay in SE St. Pete.

I talked with a student there through this board and she was very informative.  She mentioned that Lynn Lakes was very bad...very bad.  I looked up apartments at www.apartment ratings.com and I was horrified.  There was not much nice to say about any of the apartments near there (so take it with a grain of salt), but Lynn Lakes blew my mind....thanks for the heads up on that one.

Does anyone here know anything about good apartments near Stetson or about the houses the school has for rent?

I looked at about 15 apartments when I was there and really liked Emerald Bay in St. Pete.  The school's houses looked crappy from the outside, but the tour guide told us that they were pretty nice on the inside.  I am coming down there with my little dog, wife, and 9 year old, so I can't go to somewhere unsafe.

Just trying to get some personal knowledge, TIA.

Denials / Denied at U. Florida

Didn't really want to go here anyways, but I got my "can't act affirmatively" letter.  I would much rather live in Tampa than Gainesville, but UF was a heck of a lot cheaper.

Acceptances / Stetson Financial Aid

Got my acceptance at Stetson on Monday, but there was nothing about financial aid, so I just got off the phone with them.

They told me the aid letters go out in batches separate from the acceptance letters and the majority have already been sent.  For merit scholarships, they look at LSAT and UGPA and then the rest of your packet. 

Full-ride above 160, but there were some around 158.

I got my app in late and just did my FAFSA today, so hopefully I kight luck out.
