Incoming 1Ls / confirmation of seat deposit?
« on: April 22, 2005, 11:25:36 AM »
so i sent in my seat deposits last week and have received one email confirmation (UMN) but no word from the other (BC).  is it common to not recieve a confirmation that they received your check?  another thing is that one check has cleared the bank, but BC's hasn't...hmm.

anyone have any information on this?  or have specific information about BC?  i am an international applicant so email is my route of communication, so i can't just pick up the phone.

Law School Admissions / Deloggio claims applicants down by 4.6%--Discuss
« on: January 23, 2005, 12:29:12 AM »
Yeah. check out the page.

goes to 'what's new' and scroll to the bottom...under january 19.

it seems that there are the same number of applications this year (only down .6%), but that the number of actual applicants is down 4.6%.  that means that  more people are sending out more apps.

hopefully this will translate into a slightly less competitive process this year, although undoubtedly nothing remarkable.  i would say the medians will stay the same, or even go down by a very slight margin.

Law School Admissions / status check question?
« on: January 16, 2005, 02:31:04 PM »
once a school has requested your lsdas report does that mean they have all the required application materials from you?  just curious if everything is all good (i.e. dean's certification) if they request your dean's certifcation.

Law School Admissions / apply to duke?
« on: January 16, 2005, 11:32:27 AM »
looking over duke's numbers and it looks like they may be the easiest of the t-14 to get into.  there 25/75 is 162/169. can this be right?  thinking about dropping a quick app from lsac to them.  i am at their 25 for lsat and probably median for gpa.  any thoughts?  they also say that they encourage applicants to get their stuff in by mid-january.

do i even have a chance being at the median/below the median this late in the game?

hey all...critique my list and let me know what ya think.

Boston U

3.6/158+165 (international experience/peace corps)

the bottoms few i feel are safeties. agreed?

i was thinking i should do a few more in the 20-40 region (GWU, GMU, others?).  interested in new england/D.C./mid-atlantic

« on: January 11, 2005, 05:41:47 AM »
hey guys.  quick question.  do you need to do anything special to make sure the letters of recommendation are sent to your schools?  i only have two on file at LSAC.  that means that they should get sent out to all schools i apply, right?

Law School Admissions / to addend or not to addend?
« on: January 07, 2005, 02:31:15 AM »
hey all.  quick question.  i retoook the lsat in december and scored 8 pts higher, should i addend?  the first time i took the test was a few years ago.  i wasn't all that prepared.  also, the desks at my first testing center were those stupid chair/desk combo-thingys where the "desk" swings down once you sit down.  not exactly the best kind of surface, right?  anyways, should i even bother bringing this up in an addendum, or is it whining?

trying to send my apps out today, so any feedback would be awesome.  THANKS

Law School Admissions / LSAT Addendum???/PS Readers
« on: January 05, 2005, 08:11:47 AM »
Hey.  I retook the LSAT this December.  I had a span of over two years since my first test.  I plan on writing an addendum to hopefully have the ad comms take the higher score.  I don't want to whine though!

Anyone willing to read my addendum?  Post your emails and I will get a copy out to you.

Also, my PS needs a 50th proofread if anyone is interested.
