Reviews, Visits, and Rankings / Anyone attend UNLV admit day 4/01?
« on: April 03, 2005, 08:11:15 PM »
Howdy all,

I just wanted to see if anyone attended the UNLV admitted student day this past Saturday, and if so how it went, impressions, opinions, etc.

I'm going to be visiting the school this coming weekend (couldn't make it this past weekend) and just wanted to hear some other opinions of what to check out before I head out there.

I'm also wondering if any locals have opinions for things to check out in the city away from all the tourist craziness of the strip?  Thanks for anything you care to share....   :)

Acceptances / In at Loyola (LA)

For anyone who's waiting to hear from Loyola LA.....

My file went from complete to decision made in a shockingly fast 2 days...especially considering they took FOREVER to acknowledge that they'd received my LSDAS report.  Complete 2/28, decision 3/2, letter received today in a scary tiny white envelope.

Stats for anyone waiting and/or worrying...

161/3.0, URM, 8 years work experience.

Acceptances / In at UNLV!

For anyone else waiting to hear from the Boyd School of Law...

Just got the letter today, large 8 x 11 envelope, dated Feb 22.

I'm a non-resident, and they're offering a non-renewable full tuition scholarship for the first year ($17,800).

I'm excited and thrilled by the money offer (quite unexpected) but this has made what I thought was going to be a clear-cut decision for me much more complicated than I wanted. I was all set to go to Georgia State, where I've gotten no money but am a resident with super low in-state tuition.  Now with this money, the cost would be about the same as UNLV and I find the idea of moving to Nevada very appealing....

Oh well, I guess this is not a bad problem to have  :)
