Wait List / OSUs Waitlist Might Get Touched this year

Just called admissions and asked about the waitlist.  Apparently they will know next Tuesday how many seat deposits they got and will begin looking at the waitlist/making notifications, as early as next Friday.  They may pull 10 or so, according to the admin office.  I don't know the basis of this guess given that they don't have their report on seat deposits yet.  Might have to do with making fewer offers, fewer overall applicants?  I was also informed that they don't rank their list and that they are unsure how the Dean will go about making the determination about who gets the offers.

and apparently they haven't pulled from the waitlist since 2001.  I'm so bummed.

Where should I go next fall? / Will more Recommendations help a waitlist?

I got my waitlist notification from OSU today.  I have what could be a really stellar letter of recommendation I could use - they renamed the College of Humanities at Brooklyn after my Aunt - the Wolfe Institute.  Does it make any difference at this point?  I didn't ask her for a letter when I applied because I wanted to do this on my own.  Should I do it now?  Will it matter?

Law School Applications / Please apply with no app fee letters in the mail

So what does it mean when you get a mini-brochure in the mail, this late in the game, with a "please apply we hereby waive the app fee" letter?  Does it mean anything?

Non-Traditional Students / I can't take it anymore

Why is this taking so long?  My top pick has had my completed file since 1/3 and according to the person who answers the phone, my app hasn't even gone to committee yet.  I can't stand this anymore.  I'm not working, I'm just looking at LSN and discussion boards.  This isn't a good sign, is it?  Someone please calm me down.
