Utah / Utah: Particulars
« on: January 19, 2005, 07:03:49 PM »

I was just accepted at Utah but I don't have an excess of information about the school.  Outside the info on the school's website, what is there to know about the students, facilities, professors, etc.?  I'm not looking so much for someone to make the case for me to attend the school as some general input by current students there.  Thanks.

Brigham Young / BYU Law for non-LDS
« on: January 07, 2005, 12:31:32 PM »

Does anyone have any perspective on the experience of non-LDS students at BYU Law?  Do they make up a reasonable block within the school?  Are admissions chances greater or less for those without church affiliation?  Any special benefits or pitfalls for non-members while attending?

All this because it's really my top choice but I'd like to get an idea of the environment before committing.

Anybody going to Admitted Students' Day at Boalt on Friday?

General Off-Topic Board / Cats and Hawaiian Bread
« on: February 26, 2005, 11:19:35 AM »

Just a random post to ask if anyone had seen this before.  I have a cat that can't stop eating Hawaiian bread.  He's into flan as well (something a little easier for me to understand).  Anybody have a cat into the same?  Anybody have an animal with equally unusual eating habits?

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Berkeley vs. BYU
« on: February 22, 2005, 05:23:17 PM »

I've seen alot of stereotyped and extreme reactions to both schools on the LSD boards and xoxohth.  I applied to both and was already accepted into Berkeley.  If it comes down to choosing between the two, what's the popular wisdom?

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Housing in Berkeley
« on: February 17, 2005, 12:30:10 AM »

Does anybody have any insight into the housing situation in and around Berkeley?  Is the waitlist interminably long for university-owned housing?  If I go off-campus, do I have to resign myself to a dank, small and overpriced place?  Is any search best done through the campus-sponsored, pay search engine?

Just a little about me: my move is complicated because I'm married.  I'm not really willing to leave my wife and my cat behind.  If there's anyone else that's been through the search for housing for two (and a half), I'd be happy to hear from you.  (Although, I would love to hear from singles too)
