so yesterday i get a letter ( in a big envelope, mind you) saying basically that i am good enough for my app to go to the committee and that i wouldnt hear until april 15th...this sucks....a lot of deposit deadlines are april 1st ...what is this all about :-[

okay here it is...i think it might be accurate...

he thinks that schools waitlist people below their "numbers" (fully knowing that a lot of those people will eventually come off) solely for ranking purposes. This is so the school does not have to report, for example,  admitting a 145 to US News (which would bring their ave. down). does this make sense? anyone believe it? haha. I thought it was an interesting take on the situation. ::)
