Now it is time to decide.  Got my acceptance from Touro this past weekend.  After some thinking, I have decided not to go to Touro even though it is ~10K less a year than NYLS.

I am glad that I was able to make a choice and I am glad this process is over, now I can concentrate on law school itself.

Financial Aid / Access Group v. North Star (THE) opinions?
« on: May 17, 2005, 01:37:23 PM »
Which one do you think is better.  So far I am leaning towards THE, monthly credit(which will reduce total amount of repayment), they use experian for my address (highest score), limit of 120,000 for my school (I can stay within this limit), however Access group provides an additional 5 years to repay (can be good/bad), no limit (this can be dangerous, taking out more than needed) and a lower interest rate based on credit of course, but they use Trans union (lowest score).  Should I chance it with Access or go with THE?

Any other information on these companies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Got the letter today. "We received a large number of applications from individuals with a variety of skills and qualifications. Unfortunately, we cannot accept all applicants and we must therefore, disappoint many persons of accomplishment and promise"

Whatever!!!! Oh Well.  Not sure if I am going to wait on Touro.  With this track record looks like NYLS is the only school I will get into.  I should of applied earlier.  My fault, but one thing I am never going through this process again.  To damn painful and stressful.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / You win some, you lose BLS

Ding from Brooklyn Law today.  Still waiting for Hofstra.

I have only been accepted into one school so far.  Still have 3 pending.  For all of you in a similar situation are you securing your seat with that one school?  Are you gambling hoping to get into a better school?  Are you thinking about reapplying next term to get into the school you want with better scores?

Me I secured my seat, no time to waste.  Comments?? Thoughts??

Minority and Non-Traditional Law Students / Are you a single parent?
« on: April 18, 2005, 07:29:51 AM »
I am a 25 year old mother of a 4 year old little girl, who has embarked on her law school journey.

Any other single parents out there as scared as me about your life with your child once school begins?  I mean I know that the end result will allow me to provide us a better life but I am still shaking in my boots.  Any advise, words of wisdom will be appreciated.

Well I attended NYLS admitted students day this past weekend and I am sort of skeptical. I mean overall it was nice, but just a bit too nice and that is what has me thinking. Am I the only one?
Anyone else attend?

Law School Admissions / Calling the Admissions Office

How often is to often to call admissions to check your application status?  Is once a week to much? Is twice a week to much? I am over anxious, but I don't want to piss anyone off either.  Maybe I should stop calling and just wait for the mail.  (But I must say, I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE)
