Wait List / Idea for getting off hold« on: May 05, 2005, 08:52:48 AM »
So, my boss told me that he was on hold for grad school (not LS). He called the school up and said that he really wante to go there and would do anything to get in. He offered to defer for a year if that would help. They told him they would let him in if he deferred. Is that something worth trying or will it do you more harm than good?

Say you were on hold at Harvard. Say you had an important person who would make a call over there for you. Who would you direct the call to? Any advice?

Denials / Is HLS getting ready to unleash the Rejections?« on: March 24, 2005, 04:40:25 PM »
I just saw this on LSN today from someone who withdrew from HLS. Does this mean what I think it means? Is it bad?
"Call from Harvard Office of Admissions 3/24. Told they were finishing filling their class and wanted to know whether I'd already made up my mind to go elsewhere before offering me a spot (they knew about Yale acceptance from a letter I sent in Jan). I didn't want to have to make a spot decision, but the director was a bit pushy, so I said that I was pretty set on Yale. Not sure whether that will equal withdrawal, or a rejection letter in the mail soon."
