Financial Aid / Scheduled Disbursment
« on: July 13, 2005, 06:47:52 PM »
This is my first time appyling for any kind of private loan, so I'm not quite sure how things work.

My loans (I'm going with Citibank) are already set for disbursement on August 18.  However, my bill says tuition must be paid in full by August 1.  Does this mean I have to come up with the money by August 1st to meet the tuition deadline, or will this count as anticipated loan and be credited from my statement?

Also, how do I get the rest of the money?  It seems the bank disburses the money to the school, so does this mean the school give me a check after August 18?

Any response will be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Financial Aid / Interest Rates
« on: June 27, 2005, 12:17:34 PM »
I applied for a private loan through ACCESS and was approved for LIBOR Rate + 3.75% at an interest rate of 6.6 %.  I thought I wouldn't get approved based on my credit and would need to co-sign with my parents and get a better rate.  Would you happen to know if I can still co-sign with my parents, even if I can get apporved based on my credit alone, to get a better interest rate?
Thanks in advance.

Admitted through the LEO program, so I start a month earlier than everyone else.  I take a legal methodology and legal writing class with individualized tutoring from Aug. 1 to Aug. 22, no tuition or housing fee.

Letter was dated 04/18 and I received it yesterday.

I know, I can hardly believe it myself!

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Pace
« on: April 02, 2005, 10:53:13 AM »
Got my rejection letter yesterday.

It will probably be NYLS AAMPLE for me (which I chose over Albany's AAMPLE) since I  don't have any other accepts, nor have I heard from other schools.

Sucks, I was hoping to get a full admission somewhere.

Choosing the Right Law School / Conditional Admission Program at NYLS
« on: February 27, 2005, 08:08:49 AM »
I had just been rejected from Rutgers-Camden, so this conditional admission offer is looking pretty good right now.

Does anybody know anything about conditional admissions at NYLS or anywhere else?

This particular offer entails that I take 2 law courses online in the summer (with NOVA), and if I get a GPA of 2.5 or higher, I will be offered admission for Fall 2005 PT (day or night division).

Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks.

Law School Admissions / Classes on LSDA Reports?
« on: January 24, 2005, 09:42:53 AM »
This topic has probably been covered, but I can't seem to find where.  I just viewed one of the reports to be sent to a school, but I don't see a list of the classes I took.  I know that adcoms look at these, so was I supposed to have sent them a copy of my transcript or are they included in the report and I just cant view it?

The question asks of your "percentage" of contribution to undergraduate expenses.  As "method of financing" they say "work, savings, loans, scholarships, etc."  Do you think I can include grants (which I maintained by doing well in school, but were need- based grants) as a type of "financing"?

Thanks in advance!
