« on: August 15, 2005, 02:51:29 PM »
Just got in off the waitlist today, and accepted the offer. I just wanted to let you all know that miracles do actually happen, and that I am thankful for all the help and support I received here online.
Thanks Again!

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Boalt...
« on: June 09, 2005, 01:12:09 PM »
Hey, I just realized that they since they rank us very specifically and since that does not change no matter what you send to them, perhaps they use their index numbers to make a decision.
Can people please post their index numbers (as given by law schoool numbers, I don't know how accurate this is actually) and quartile rank so that I can see if this hypothosis is correct?

Index - 243.2
Quartile - 2nd Quartile Resident List.

I think you have teased me long enough. Just let me in already and we will all have a great time.

Law School Admissions / Should UCLA and USC take this long?
« on: March 24, 2005, 01:01:16 PM »
I knew that these two schools took longer for many people when I applied to them, but this long? What's happening, Both schools have mentioned that many people won't find out until May, but if you are one of these people is it safe to say that what you will be finding out is that you've been rejected or waitlisted.
Also, I am starting to get discouraged because more and more people on this board are talking about next application cycle, has this cycle pretty much run it's course?

Choosing the Right Law School / Not a good day for Siehead

Rejected from Duke today, likely rejection/waitlist from Cornell today, waitlisted at GULC and reserved at Columbia. All in 24 hours.
Now don't get me wrong and go bashing me because of my low LSAT score, my hopes weren't up all that high and I have been realistic throughout this whole process (well mostly realistic anyway). It just sucks to get a lot of negative news all at once, and somewhere deep inside I thought I would get lucky and land one T14. I guess I was wrong. Oh well, still holding out a little hope for UVA, UCLA, USC and UTA. And who knows maybe GULC will pull me off of their priority waitlist if I play my cards right... right?

Law School Admissions / decision at cornell
« on: March 22, 2005, 12:12:06 PM »
I went to decision today on their status checker website. So, should I have already received an email saying that I got in (if I did get in of course), if not, how long would it normally take, and how long is the snailmail going to take!!
I really really want this one, cross your fingers or knock on some wood for me if you care!!!

Law School Admissions / Reserved at Columbia?
« on: March 21, 2005, 10:33:29 PM »
OK, I know not to get my hopes up, and I have already done a couple of searches with no good answers, so I just wanted to ask again if I have a shot in hell off of columbia's reserved list. I know that I shouldn't have even gotten this far so it is quite a shock to me, and I was wondering if anybody knew more about what I could do to increase my chances at this point.
Any info on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Law School Admissions / Georgetown finally went to Decision...
« on: March 16, 2005, 03:39:47 PM »
It's about time there has been some movement with my applications. Honestly, I don't expect anything from GULC this late in the game, but an acceptance would blow me away.
I guess we will know on Monday!
Who's gonna be right?
If I were an outside observer I would probably put Waitlist or Rejection.
Since I am me, I got to put the Acceptance!!!
Cause it's like butter.

Law School Admissions / What's going on with my app?
« on: March 15, 2005, 02:59:31 PM »
Seriously, I am still pending at 11 schools and I was complete at pretty much all of them by the middle of december. That makes it 3 months now since my app was "submitted to the committee for review." Why are they stringing me along? I thought I had a great shot at schools like UCLA, UTA and USC, now I am beggining to doubt any chance of an acceptance anywhere. I understand that I have a GPA/LSAT split, with a high GPA (the wrong kind of split if you are going to have one). It shouldn't take so long for schools like Harvard and Columbia to reject me, but it isn't even them that I am concerned over, I didn't expect much from them to begin with. It's those target schools, and even those like Loyola which should have been a lock that get me to wondering what the hell is going on.
Well, sorry for the vent but I had to tell someone who understood what I was going through, is there anybody else out there in a similar situation? Should I expect no more acceptances?
In short, what's going on with my app?

Choosing the Right Law School / Waiting is breaking my heart
« on: March 10, 2005, 12:03:13 PM »
As time passes I grow less and less comfortable with my chances of getting into any of the schools that I would really like to go to. I am sure that there are many of you out there who feel me on this.
If you would be so kind, take a look at my numbers and offer some encouraging advice about my chances at any of the remaining schools. Is there still hope, or should I accept that I am GW bound?
