as i walk around campus, i frequently see flyers that say something to the extent of, "come attend the right to life conference. we don't discriminate. we think all life is important, even the unborn." now, these flyers are definitely for a student group that is "pro-life". my problem with this kind of group, using slogans like they do, as well as the self-righteous conservatives that decry pro-choice/abortion because life is sacred, is that they are full of sh*t. they spout rhetoric about how liberals don't appreciate the value of life, but then they turn around and call for the death penalty like it's nothing. if all life is so sacred, why the hell do we kill people to punish them for killing others?
i have no problem with people believing that abortion is wrong and that all life is sacred. the problem arises when this rhetoric is sh*t used for political calculations and is conditional. if you're unborn, you can have life, but once you have life and you do something we don't like, #@!* you; you just lost the value of your life.
someone please explain to me how this can possibly make sense.
