Studying for the LSAT / Starting with a 138
« on: April 28, 2005, 09:01:31 PM »
I'm trying to help a friend study for the June LSAT...I had him take a practice test from 1993 today to see where hes at and he got a 138. If he studies hard from now until the test, what is a feasible score he could get? I'm trying to remain optomistic that he could hit 155-160 if he busts his ass but I don't want to give him false hope...does anyone know anyone with experience starting around a 138 and improving? Is it conceivable to improve 20 points?

General Off-Topic Board / Jersey Shore Summer Renta;
« on: April 22, 2005, 01:07:43 PM »
Does anyone have any experience renting a house/room at the Jersey Shore for the Summer? One friend and I are considering spending the Summer at the shore and getting crappy jobs and just relaxing...whats the lowest we could pay for decent but not great living? Does it get much cheaper with more people? Whats the best advice for renting there? Anyone have an links to affordable properties? Looking to spend no more than 2K per person for the whole Summer...

Choosing the Right Law School / Duke w/25K in aid or Cornell w/44K
« on: April 21, 2005, 02:13:41 PM »
Which would you pick? I think I prefer Duke more but 19K is enough that passing it up seems kind of foolish. Which would you choose and why? Please be specific as possible...thanks!

Choosing the Right Law School / Penn?
« on: March 04, 2005, 01:49:04 PM »
Anyone want to conjecture as to what not hearing anything since being deferred at Penn means now? I seem to have escaped the recent rounds of rejection letters and WL emails but have also not found myself in the group of recent admits. I guess I'm just right on the border of getting in or not....Penn's my first choice so I'm really hoping they come through for me. Anyone else in the same boat?

Choosing the Right Law School / Schools pay to fly out?
« on: March 02, 2005, 09:05:38 PM »
Does anyone know how willing schools are to pay for admitted students to fly out? I'm considering visiting USC and UCLA, but I live on the East coast and can't afford to  pay to fly out but if a school paid for it, I would be willing to visit to see how interested I am in the schools? Anyone know how common this is or if schools are willing to do this?

Law School Admissions / Updated Transcripts
« on: December 07, 2004, 06:57:35 PM »
After Fall grades come out, is one required to send an updated transcript to any school that hasn't made a decision yet? Is that suppossed to be done through LSAC or sent directly to schools?

Specifically, if one's grades went down and it would be to their advantage not to send a transcript, do they still have to? do all schools expect this?
