I'm sending my deposit in today but I noticed that the deposit form which I have to sign has only two choices:

1. Going to Emory for sure (...see no reason which will prevent me from attending.)
2. Not going to Emory

I'm decided on Emory, but will not attend if I get off the waitlist at another institution. How should I address this? Should I just put a check next to #1?

I go back and forth everyday and now I only have a few days left to decide. Any input will be appreciated.

I will be in huge amounts of debt at either school, but $35,000 to $50,000 less at Davis, which is definiately a significant amount.

However, Davis is overshadowed in the CA market by all those great schools in the area and job prospects seem better at Emory... or so they appear.

Please help!!  ???

Incoming 1Ls / Laptops on ebay

I'm thinking about getting a laptop on ebay and was wondering if anyone had any warnings before I actually do it. If the seller says that it is factory sealed and is brand new, should I believe it? I'm interested in the IBM x40s, and was wondering why it was so much cheaper there.

Choosing the Right Law School / Mail and Response deadline

I'm going abroad for two week starting 4-11, but still waiting on some schools. Anyone know how much time schools give you to respond? I'm thinking not any less than 2 weeks...

Minority and Non-Traditional Law Students / AAs in Atlanta
« on: March 26, 2005, 09:15:42 AM »
I'm thinking about going to Emory. However, I'm a bit wary of going down there... I admit I have only been there once when I was ten, so I don't know much about the city. I'd like to know how Asian American friendly the city and esp. the firms are. I realize that there's a high likelihood that I'll work in Atlanta for at least a few years, and don't know what it's like being a AA lawyer in Atlanta. If anyone has any thoughts... pls let me know. Thanks!

Which has better reputation, Emory or Davis?

If I add Boston College and Fordham to the mix, how would you rank them?

Law School Admissions / Reapplication

I am contemplating reapplying in the next cycle for various reasons. I was pleasantly surprised that I was admitted to a couple of reach schools, however; do you know how these schools will treat my application the second time around?

Secondly, do schools dispose of my application once this cycle is over? How about for schools for which I applied twice?

Law School Admissions / Credit report for GW?

Did I read this correctly? According to the website, GW requires a credit report as part of the financial aid doc. requirements. Anyone know a good source that I can contact for this?

Law School Admissions / iowa

Anyone know the percentage of Asians at Iowa? They only give a total percentage of minority students, but not the break down.

Their website gave me such a headache, by the way. They should seriously rethink the white on black concept.
