I'm in a GW and Preferred WL at GULC.  Let's just say that it gets to be a week from registration at GW and I JUST THEN find out that GULC accepts me.  I'll be in DC, no matter what.

If it logistically possible, from a loans perspective, to accept the offer?  Any real-world examples of last minute stuff?

Thanks in advance--

Does anyone know how to deal with apartments that have income requirements (like, 3x rent/month or, say, 42x rent/year)?  Just look elsewhere???  I'm finding a lot of places have requirements...Ideas?

Thanks

Also, where do most people live who go to GW?  In the expensive school housing?

Law School Admissions / When to start sending apps???
« on: October 11, 2004, 07:05:43 PM »
All--

If I took the 10/02 LSAT, do I need to wait until my score is posted to begin sending out apps???  I'm also waiting on two recommendations...

I'm doing everything electronically.

Appreciate the advice--

I can't friggin get above 156/157.  I'm not dumb, I got a 1350 on the old SATs and did great in UG, but just can't seem to get above TTT level on LSAT.  Heck, when I take the practice tests, all of my answers seem to be the right ones to me with little exception (usually don't finish one of the games)

I've been studing for a month, 3-5 hours a day, 5-6 days a week.  Been through the LGB and LRB and did great.  Done 8 practice tests:

150 152 155 157 154 155 155 156 155

UG cum 3.79
3.96 NYU (deg granting school)

Is this the little canary of fate saying "Look elsewhere' to my law school fantasies?

I guess my fear is going to a TTT school and being locked in to a bad track, to be unnecesarily limited MY WHOLE CAREER by my choice to go into law even though the LSAT says I'm no good---  note that I have NO wont to pursue (nor do I have the scores, obviously) to pursue Skadden/wachtell-level law.  My thought is to be in a good firm in a big, but not necessarily HUGE city WHERE THERE IS GREAT FLY FISHING nearby (thus no U Montana--- my wife would go out of her mind).

Hey, I TIA

Choosing the Right Law School / University of Washington/PacNW law???
« on: September 16, 2004, 06:11:52 PM »
what's the word on the street about U of Wash?  Anyone admitted???  If so- stats?

How about cost of livingin Seattle vs. pay from top 30% of U of W???

How about Seattle U and U of Oregon/LC is no U of W???

I have a dependent wife, so i can't afford to take a $40k job after LS (and think I will do well in LS.)

I come from 5 years in NYC living on $60k-$70k/year and don't want to go back to something like that, only in another town.

Cheers

Law School Admissions / Entertainment Law
« on: September 08, 2004, 09:58:18 PM »
Folks--

Best schools not in NYC for entertainment law...

OK how about IN NYC, TOO???

I'm thinking USC/UCLA--- but other than the obvious advantage of HLS/Yale, any other thoughts???

For the record I'm not a contender for HLS/Yale:

3.9, 164

5 years substantive work experience in media technology (the stuff that people use to make entertainment) as well as entertainment
Script optioned two years ago (but 0% chance of it ever getting made-- and I'm not interested in hanging on by my fingernails for the next 10-20 years on account of possibilities)

UG at NYU Film School '99

I'd love to hear thoughts--
