Oh Canada! / the low down on working back in canada with a T14 US JD
« on: March 01, 2006, 01:04:28 PM »
can someone point me to a good authoritative source or give me the straight essentials?

cause i think i'll get a better (read: more prestiegous) education but i much rather stay in canada long term.

hi all, i'd like some advice about how to plan my law school in order to maximize my competitiveness to work for a western firm in China ASAP after graduation.

what classes do i need to take? what should i concentrate on? what activities are important? what interships should i look for? who are the people i need to f*ck? (and what are their favourite positions?)

there have been a dearth of information on international legal careers in China in my experience (either that or i don't know where to look)

my background: poli sci/phil major, chinese born canadian citizen starting at georgetown 06, fluent mandarin (spoken. reading skills rusty but good, writing skills almost non existent) and rudimentary korean. i got some work experience and connections in the PRC.

your help will be highly appreciated.
