Studying for the LSAT / When is the deadline to cancel the score via fax?
« on: December 09, 2005, 12:17:13 PM »
I'm considering cancelling my score because I'm just not sure how well/bad I did...
I don't feel necessarily to take the chance becasue I was actually satisfied with my first score..and I don't want to screw it up.
Does anyone know when the deadline to fax in the cancel sheet?

As well, do I only need to send in that form or do i need to attach a written letter or of any other kind?
Thanks.

Studying for the LSAT / The second Round.
« on: October 26, 2005, 06:24:31 PM »
After receiving a 159 on my LSAT, I've decided to retake. My highest was a 161 on Preptest #49 and some may wonder why I would retake it when I only did 2 scale points lower.

The fact is that, I am safe with a lot of the canadian law schools I want to get in to since I have a high GPA.  However, I feel like I can still improve with the extra month I have, and I want to prove to myself I can do better the second time around.  I strongly feel this way because I was really nervous on the first three sections, where I screwed up the most.  Hopefully, I can do a better job second time around.

« on: October 20, 2005, 11:49:19 PM »
I'm starting to freak out....I can't believe that the marks are coming out tommorow..
I can't do anything right now..I'm supposed to finish my PS today...but I couldn't even touch it.
I seriously hate this feeling...
I'm not too optimistic about my score because I was really nervous during the exam..so I'm just praying that somehow God will bail me out on this one.
I don't know how I'll be able to sleep today. :'(

Studying for the LSAT / What does this quote really mean?
« on: October 05, 2005, 09:46:48 PM »
“The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread.” - Anatole France

Does this sound sarcastic to you, saying how law isn't really effective at all?  Or is it really saying that it represents equality and punishes all regardless of one's position?

Personal Statement / Is this a good PS topic? Structure.
« on: October 05, 2005, 08:29:20 PM »
Hi, I'm trying to think of how I should structure my PS and what ideas I should use.  Can anyone tell me whether this is a good start?

For my Topic, I'm going to elaborate on how becoming a lawyer fits in to my goals and my desire to contribute to the society at large.  I want to elaborate  how Canada/U.S. is comprised of equality and diversity and that my goal is to represent equality regardless of gender, race, nationality, and income level.

This will be my structure:

P1: Intro.  Quote on equality of all.  What Canada/U.S.(I'm applying to both) and law means to me, and why "insert law school" is the ideal choice and how I fit in to their system.

P2: Elaborate on my interest in law, and the type of law I want to persue and why I am specifically interested in "insert law school."  What distinguishes "insert law school" from others?

P3: How I fit in to the law school system and what attributes I hold that will distinguish me from others.

P4: Elaborate more on the P3.  Talk about the political campaign i volunteered for and how my emphasis on equal accessibility and equal rights during this campaign fits in to my goal of becoming a lawyer.

P5: Conclude.

Excuse me for the spelling mistakes/grammer.  I just wanted to quickly type out my ideas while it was still fresh on my head.  Thanks.

Studying for the LSAT / Can't study anymore.
« on: September 29, 2005, 10:38:17 PM »
I took my last diagnostic two days ago and scored 161, which was the high end of my diagnostics.  Ever since then, I can't even bare to look at LSAT questions.  I just totally lose focus and misread questions, or just end up falling asleep.  I tried doing some Logic games today, but I finally decided that I'm just going to end my studies here.
I might do one more diagnostic tommorow (Which I've done before) but I'm not quite sure.
I just want this exam over with!
