Choosing the Right Law School / Temple or Rutgers-Newark?
« on: April 14, 2008, 04:52:44 PM »
Anyone else choosing between the two?  I was wondering if anyone had any idea of the job prospects in the Philly market coming out of Rutgers-Newark (not really as interested in Rutgers-Camden).  I got decent scholarships from both, however Rutgers will be cheaper because it is so easy to get in-state tuition from the start.  I would like to head down to Philly for work, but I also want to keep my costs as low as possible.  The schools really aren't that far apart, so I am not sure how immediately regional they are.  Any input appreciated!

Choosing the Right Law School / Commuting
« on: March 31, 2008, 01:05:33 PM »
Anyone considering commuting to their school of choice, in order to live closer to family or SO?  Like a 1-2 hour commute?  Any thoughts on the feasibility of commuting to law school appreciated.

Choosing the Right Law School / Rutgers-Newark vs Temple
« on: March 31, 2008, 07:34:30 AM »
Any advice would be appreciated...down to Temple and Rutgers-Newark.  They seem pretty similar in reputation, atmosphere and course offerings to me, and I hope to work in Philly, with the option of maybe NJ or NYC as well.  If I go to Temple, I am leaving my SO in Brooklyn, who I plan on seeing on the weekends, and if I go to Rutgers, we will get a place convenient to Newark and Brooklyn and live together.  Pretty different outcomes.  I am nervous that once I am living in Philly I will not be able to devote weekends to seeing him because I will have too much to do.  He is a major factor in my consideration as we discuss a possible future together, but you only go to law school once and I want to go to the best possible school I can for my interests.  I went to ASW at Temple and loved it, I still need to visit Rutgers.  Any thoughts?

Choosing the Right Law School / $30K at NYLS...worth it?
« on: February 23, 2008, 05:54:02 PM »
Just looking to get some feedback. I have been accepted to NYLS with a $30K scholarship, renewable each year with conditions of course, and am still waiting to hear from Fordham, Brooklyn, and Cardozo.  I don't think I will get much money from those three, since my LSAT was 162.  Any opinions on whether it would be better to pay a lot more if I got into one of the last three since their rep is better, or is NYLS a good deal with the scholarship?  There are so many different opinions about NYLS out there.
