Where should I go next fall? / Bay Area dilemma
« on: February 25, 2008, 12:14:26 PM »
Hi, looking for advice...
I'm a nontraditional applicant starting a totally new career. My wife and I have deep ties to the Bay Area and we currently live in San Francisco, where I want to eventually live and practice. At the same time, I wonder if we'll ever be able to afford to buy a house inside the city limits, so, really, how long can we stay? I'm deciding between USF, McGeorge (w/$15,000), Santa Clara, and Lewis & Clark (w/$5,000). My wife could keep her job only if I go to USF. She's willing to follow me anywhere, but would of course prefer not to be uprooted. My background is in journalism, business, and bookselling, but I have a wide-open mind about what kind of law I want to practice.
Looking for any helpful input to help me make up my mind. Thanks, MZ.
