Has anyone else received an email stating that their application is currently on HOLD at the U of I?  What exactly does this imply?  How often do people get pulled off of it?  What purpose does it serve?

Any information about this HOLD status would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / University of Illinois

I got an email a few days back from Dean Pless stating that my application had been passed on to the 'second round' of admissions.  Therefore, not an acceptance, denial or wait list.  Does anyone know how long these holds on admissions take usually at U of I?  I've heard that UIUC can take a horrid amount of time making their decisions after the first round of decisions are mailed out, and it is even worse for those that are wait listed.

Any news is good news.

Choosing the Right Law School / Iowa v. UW Madison v. Kent/Loyola/DePaul

If you got into these schools, and were interested in working for the Chicago market, which would give the strongest chances and working BigLaw?  At the very least which school would set you up for a job in Chicago that would pay enough money to live in the city?

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / UW Madison v. Iowa

Iowa seems to get some flak on these boards, but I rarely hear much about UW Madison, whether it be positive or negative.

I'd like to stay in the Chicago market and was wondering if a) either or both of these schools would carry better in Chicago when compared to Kent/Loyola/DePaul and b) which school (between Iowa and Wisconsin) would lead to better employment?
