While waiting on the edge of my seat to see whether I fall into the "waitlist" or "reject" category (would LOVE) a waitlist, I end up turning to the numbers on LSN.
Someone check my logic:
Harvard accepts roughly 800 people each year, with 500 or so matriculating. Law School Numbers is a niche board, but comparing years may help.
Last year, assuming 800 were accepted, 190 posted acceptances on LSN. This year, 169 have posted acceptances. If you do 190/800 = 169/x, that means they have probably accepted 711 people thus far.
However, if you assume (a big assumption) that LSN grows in popularity each year, especially among higher-number people, I would think the number is closer to 700 acceptances so far.
THAT means that there are still a decent amount of admitted decisions left to be made, unless Harvard is assuming a very different yeild.
Does this make any sense? Does anyone think this could be correct?

I apologize for reposting this if its already been posted, but I couldn't find it...
So, I applied to Columbia ED, then got deferred. Today, I got a letter saying that I am on first reserve... they wouldn't say how many people are on it, just that your application will be re-reviewed in late May. :-(
How many other people have received this ? I can't tell from LSN, because its a type of deferral, and there are a lot of them.
Also, in past years, what has this meant for chances at admission?

Does anyone know when Berkeley typically starts sending out awards? Or has anyone received one? On LSN only 1 person has money listed. I know its a longshot that they offer me anything, but it would affect my decision-making process...

As I am in limbo with 3 different WL's from 3 different schools that I am very very interested in, please help amuse me by voting on your opinion... honesty counts.

I really need some advice...
What are people's opinions on:
T14 with no money
T20 with pretty good money...

For those of you who are planning on going to T14 schools, what is the general consensus on working during your first year? Nothing too extensive, but something like working as a teaching assistant that doesn't require much time, or working as an attendant in a library. With no scholarship aid, I feel like even a little bit of money on the side could offset some of the 136K in loans that I would be taking out...

With LOCI's and additional rec's, did anyone call to verify that the essays/letters were received? With the initial applications, we were notified when files were complete, but now im being paranoid and wondering if I should call to make sure addition things were added to my files.
Did anyone else do this?

So, I know that there are standards for withdrawing from schools after you have made a decision. However, I haven't made a decision yet, but I know based on where I have been accepted that there are schools I would not attend at this point. What should a letter of withdrawl look like??

Just got an email telling me I can check the status of my Application online-- I saw the address and had a heart palpitation. grrrr. probably too good to be true.
Is this a new thing? I have been on their website a million times, and never saw an app status checker...
Did anyone else get this email?

With the new interview process at GULC, I think everyone is wondering what it means for their chances... I have been trying to stalk people with numbers similar to mine that might warrant interviews on LSN, but not with too much luck.
If you had an interview, please post and give status updates. Im interested to see if we will just be one-off acceptances, denials, holds, etc...
I had my interview in early december, and my status recently changed from "interview" to "complete" and has been at "complete" for about a week.
