Transferring / oci success
« on: July 21, 2009, 04:53:59 PM »
I might be outing myself if someone works hard enough, but I wanted to give people a morale boost.  A firm cancelled their on-campus interviews with my probable soon-to-be-school, but I was told they wanted to setup a phone interview with me.

I guess this gives a little support to the notion that transfers can at least get a shot at things.  Good luck, everyone!

Transferring / GW OCI

Anyone else kinda not so impressed by their offerings for early interviews?  As a transfer it really seems like a crapshoot considering there's only 35 bids.  I asked career services for advice, and they totally gave me a non-answer answer about where to place myself competitively.

Transferring / WUSL v. GWU
« on: July 13, 2009, 08:31:38 PM »
Any thoughts?
Factors:
GWU is cheaper for me by 10K a year.
I'd rather live in DC or Texas after graduation.
I know WUSTL has better job prospects and better access to profs.
I'd like a legit shot at clerking for a fed ct (any type except bankruptcy)

Does anyone know when they might start making notifications?  It seems like it should be about now from last year's experience.  Thanks in advance.

Has anyone done a tour or had exposure to the school?  Just curious if anyone has thoughts on the place.  Thanks much!

Where should I go next fall? / NALP Data
« on: January 16, 2008, 05:42:42 PM »
I might just be lost in the sauce, and I don't feel like searching for hours, so I thank whomever can tell me in advance...
is there somewhere I can find the NALP's jobs and salary information for free.  I only found ordering information.

Thanks!

Law School Applications / Giving you Tier 4 Haters Some Love
« on: December 06, 2007, 10:31:14 AM »
Weeks ago, some of us noted that Widener sent out a blast email to about 100 applicants informing them that their apps were complete.  The amusing this was that it was from a 2L, and she didn't bcc: people.  Anyways, for giggles, I emailed her about 10 days ago asking some banal questions.
I and someone else I know who did the same have never heard back.  Now, in principle, I think it's a great idea as far as a recruiting tool, but wow, if you're going to email like that, it's probably a good idea to have someone who is reponsible enough to respond to emails.
