Law School Admissions / Extra addendum?
« on: November 01, 2007, 07:43:11 PM »
I applied to law school last year, wrote my personal statement and everything, then withdrew all of my apps before receiving decisions (for a variety of reasons that aren't worth getting into).

I decided to take a year off, and now have a job that will look very good on applications. For this year, I was planning to resubmit last year's personal statement (with some minor changes), and also a separate addendum (about a page and a half) about my job. I was thinking that it could be in response to the usual "optional essay" allowed by the applications, but I'm a bit worried that admissions officers will frown upon having an extra essay about what probably should be part of my personal statement. That optional essay seems to be more for minorities, disabilities, etc.

But as this job should be VERY helpful to my application, I wanted to give it more discussion than would be possible as part of my personal statement.

Am I hurting myself by including this somewhat unsolicited addendum, or is it more important to give this job the weight I feel it deserves? Thanks for any help you can offer!
