Law School Applications / LOCI
« on: February 20, 2008, 12:56:08 PM »
Considering many of us are currently experiencing waitlist hell, I think this is appropriate. What goes in a LOCI? I'm guessing things like a GPA increase, new work experience, etc. Anything else? I would appreciate some advice as I compile mine.

Where should I go next fall? / NOW WHAT?
« on: December 20, 2007, 08:35:01 PM »
So I got my december score, wasn't expecting much but increased 4 points to a 166. I applied to schools such as Fordham, BC, BU but nothing higher in the rankings. What would be some good reach schools for someone like me?

Law School Applications / Dean's Cert
« on: December 05, 2007, 09:19:58 PM »
I noticed some of the apps im filling out have a Dean's Cert. Does the Dean's cert have to be in for me to be complete? to get a decision?

Studying for the LSAT / Teaching LSAT prep.
« on: December 04, 2007, 02:05:42 AM »
Does anyone have a link to any threads about teaching the LSAT? I'm looking for info about what the application process entails, what kind of hours are available, etc.

How do I go about getting the schools to hold my file? Is there any chance they make a decision on me before the Dec. scores are released?

Personal Statement / Undergrad Discipline
« on: November 12, 2007, 03:19:51 PM »
On all apps they ask about undergrad discipline for misconduct. I am attempting to write an addendum about this topic. Should I be explicit about the situations I was involved in or should I just say that something happened, show remorse, and argue that immaturity got a hold of me? I was 18 and 19 at the time (2 cases of partying) and havent had a problem since. In actuality, I was guilty by association in both cases and really had nothing to do with what went on, but had no way of defending myself according to school rules. Should I mention this? I was not going to in order to avoid sounding like a whiner. Any advice is welcome.

Recommendations / LOR troubles.

I am now realizing that there are two separate forms- tell me if I am correct.

1. To notifiy LSAC that the person I asked is writing a letter.
2. Confirmation/ waiving my right to see the letter + the letter itself.

I think the people I asked sent the actuall letter in with the first document that we filled out. Is that wrong? can I fix this?

Studying for the LSAT / BOMBED...GOTTA RETAKE.... WHAT DO I DO?
« on: October 22, 2007, 04:43:58 PM »
So I bombed the LSAT with a 162 (relative to my practice score average of 167). I made the mistake of taking kaplan, no one at my school does otherwise. What should I do to best prepare myself for december. Are there weekend courses i can take from Powerscore/Testmasters. Should i get the bibles? is there anything else? How do I help my inconsistent reading comp?

3.6/162 Non-white.

Does lineage matter.... 2 family members went to Fordham undergrad.

Where should I go next fall? / 3.6/162 Need a change of plans.

Ok....... so my practice scores were somewhere between 163 and 174, I never got lower than a 163 after I took Kraplan. I need help on creating a new list with my current score, what I now need to do to get schools to hold my application for a potential retake, or with suggestions on what I should do to retake. With a 3.62 and a 162, can I still go T1? can I go top 30?

I basically blew RC..... for some reason as I got closer and closer to the test my RC got worse and worse, going from like a -3 to -5  up to a -5 to -7 and I ended up with a -9. Even though I never get more then 3 wrong on LG, i can never get less than 1. My LR is usually hit and miss. One section I will get -1 to -3, and the second -4 to -7. This leaves my score up in the air almost every time. Should I get the bibles and retake?
