Has anyone had any experience searching for a SA across the country? I am in Georgia and I am looking for a SA in Seattle. I am in the top 10% of my class. How much does it matter that I am not local? I plan to move to Seattle after law school.

Is there no fall break in law school? Also, what are the ramifictions for missing class in law school? I know it's not a good idea but if you miss a Friday and Monday, are you going to be seriously behind?

So, my LS is about an hour and fifteen away from my house. I am going to commute for a while and see how that goes. Does anyone have any recommendations for relevant listening material for the ride? Can I record the lectures and then play them back in the car? Are there any law school books on tape?
Trust me, I do not want to commute but I have a wife and a mortgage, so I cannot just get up and move. If it becomes too much I will have to rent a room during school. However, how many people do we know who commute an hour to work everyday? What's the difference? [rationalization] 6

Which do you prefer? I want to buy one and I can't choose! I heard LSC has more negative undertones. I just want to read something that is somewhat interesting and will give me the most accurate idea of what I am getting myself into as well as offer some decent study tips..

When I check out my top schools on LSN, there are only accepts and pending applicaitons posted. Are the rejects just not posting, or do schools make the easy decisions first and save the rejections for later.

Have you guys read this article on TLS? What do you think about the students approach? I think he has some valid points, but I am anticipating my social life will suffer a little while in law school. However, I like the view of always keeing the end game in sight, which is the final exam. Any thoughts?

So how does getting a 2L summer BIGLAW job fit in with a joint degree? If you go JD/MBA, you will have to go another year to graduate. Do firms hire you for 3L summer work with the intention of you comming aboard after the 4th year for the MBA? Or do most JD/MBA's not go into Biglaw and are more concerned with getting into Business. Wht sort of jobs are out there for a JD/MBA?
