Law School Applications / Did anyone else go to decision at Michigan today?

I received a deferral email earlier and have gone to decision today... just wondering if I'm part of a large group of decisions going out...  ;D

Law School Applications / reminder: NU financial aid deadline (for grants & scholarships) is 2/15/08!

Just a friendly reminder that the deadline for NU's financial aid (for grants and scholarships) is 2/15/08. Need Access and FAFSA due by this date...

FYI: I confirmed with the office that they do not need copies of submitted tax returns by this date to be considered for grants.

... So just when I am coming to grips with the fact that I will need to take out massive amounts of loans to pay for school, appearing in my mailbox is a dangling carrot (cleverly disguised as a letter) of $35K per year....

Someone want to remind me of the difference in employment opportunities between NU and BC?  ;D

Law School Applications / Berkeley: No deferral, no acceptance yet... bad sign?

I have been complete at UC Berkeley for about 2 months now, and have not received either a deferral email or a decision of any kind... do you think this spells certain doom?  ??? :-\

Where should I go next fall? / UCLA (in-state tuition) vs. Georgetown....

... I am currently a CA resident and most likely will see myself ending up in CA for work. In-state tuition at UCLA is a huge plus for me, but I am wondering if GULC would open more doors for jobs, etc (not sure if less GULC students out on the west coast works in my favor or against it).

I would love to hear your thoughts and impressions about both schools.

Where should I go next fall? / Vanderbilt vs. GULC for someone not sold on BIGLAW?

Wondering what your opinions are on a lower T14 (#14) vs. Vandy (16)... does the "T14" really have that much pull over schools very close in ranking, or does this only really make a difference when you compare the higher-ranked T14's (i.e. Michigan, Stanford, UChicago) with non-T14s?

A little about me: I am not convinced I want to enter BIGLAW, but am interested in possibilities of clerkships and, ultimately, involvement in criminal law or appellate practice. I am attracted to GULC's location and clinical programs, but to Vandy's collegiate environment, smaller size, faculty accessibility, and new Law & Human Behavior program.

Assume no merit money for either, although I am in the process of applying for Vandy's full tuition scholarships.

Personal Statement / Yale 250 - finally a workable draft!!!!

After writing down and abandoning more ideas for the YLS 250 word essay, I finally have a draft that is close to completion! Phew! Anyone else struggling with this essay right now?
